Love Changes You

Love changes you

It makes you someone else,

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad thing

At least it’s not always a bad thing

But most times it is.

And before you go as far as saying that I’ve only ever experienced false love, you may be right.

But that’s not where i’m at.

Love changes you.

It creates an utopia for you, warps your mind in possibilities and endless perfection

Makes you dream, explore, feel,

Love makes you want more.

It takes you so high that you can’t see anything but,

But then it leaves, if it leaves.

That’s when the changes come

You spend days wondering if you know what love means and if you actually loved that person when a million exchanged texts and kisses say you do.

You spend weeks getting over it, but you can’t so you replace it

With hate, not the opposite of love but a good stand in

You begin to hate love, and love hate

You wish everyone was single as you

Love makes you miserable, you swear it off, vow it away

Chase every new person that slithers your way

Love changes you, opens you up to a million new emotions that you would have never experienced, makes you someone else, something else.

It may have been good, it is good, it is everything we need and ought to experience

But love brings out all the hatred in us.
