Hello there,

Welcome,

If there’s ever a word that I do not understand, it is the word welcome. Should I really be complimenting someone for how they came? Are there certain situations where the word can be excused?

If I show up after being through a troublesome ordeal on the way, did I come ‘well’? If my great aunt, whom I despise and who despises me with unmatched vigor shows up for Sunday brunch, do I suck it up inside my gut and say ‘you’re already here, might as well-come’

Truth be told, I’m a little short on felicitations, and the other person tends to be very mindsy (which is opposite of handsy) about things, especially things that I say on her behalf. Therefore, for want of a better word, allow me to welcome you to The other person. I do hope you have come well.

We’re not about to go on a journey, don’t expect that, we’re not also about to change your life, much. We’re however going to be the page you’d find yourself drawn to day by day, looking for something you didn’t know you needed, like an insane addiction.

It’s not going to be fun, but I’m determined to be Your other person
