The night we met
We lived ten lifetimes in a single second
Surrounded by stars, the ones in the sky and the ones in our eyes.
We met as strangers, bored and lonely
Intrigued by the night.
Carried by the chirps of the cricket, we let our love be loud.
Loud enough to draw the eyes of the guards to where we sat, cross legged, a chill in our spine
Backed by the flashing of his light we ran away from all our flaws
Deeper into the night, we merged our souls, hitting bodies along the way.
The night we met, it was too dark, we didn’t know when we fell in love
But by 6 came the mourning
And we skittered away in hiding
Afraid of the day and the power it had
To take our love out of hand
The secrets we shared at night
We couldn’t bring into the light
You wouldn’t love me, and I’m not sure i will either
If the shadows weren’t there to hide parts of us that were bitter
Cause the night we met
Nothing could stop us
Not even the lies we kept to guard us
Or the walls we built to hide us
But by 6 came the mourning,
Cause we wanted forever, but it’s already morning
So save your breath
Save your tears
For in 12 hours when my anxiety sleeps
My courage will awake in pjs and masks roaming the city in search of the place where light becomes one with darkness
Reaching into the past to find clues to lead me back to the night i met you
(P.s I actually wrote the two at different times, but i was so amazed when i was going through my notes that they had the same intro. The piece doesn’t actually mean meeting someone at night. It’s actually about meeting someone and hiding your flaws from the person. Meeting someone and being scared to show them your real self and leaving the person in the dark, and any light that tries to come you hide and pretend cause you are afraid that if they know who you really are they wouldn’t love you. It is not a sequel to the one i posted before, but it just felt weird giving it the same title, so I’m making it a pt2)
